Creativity & Innovation: A Self Reflection Piece

Reflecting on my areas for growth in creativity and innovation was made easier with the below self reflection worksheet. It came through with 5 clear areas of focus for me:

I have always been a high achiever. My good friend Sarah always says if there is one fact that paints a picture of Renee it's that at age 13 I got a permit from the Government to be able to work before the legal age.

I don't allow myself time.

Time to reflect, time to process, time to simply be.

The constant focus on the next thing means I balance a lot. A family (including a 5 year old), two jobs, the completion of an Masters Degree, running marathons but I question which of these I do to their full ability or really give the time they deserve.

Let alone when do I simply giving time for me to play and sit in my own space-time oasis.

This leaves me often in a closed mode when approaching problems and solutions, missing the opportunity to be creative and explore.

And then there is the fear of failure or even worse, disappointment. Sometimes the world feels safer holding back but on reflection I question how many good ideas have been wasted or lost as a result of this fear?

Finally, it's around delving into the theory and tools within studying creativity. I look forward to understanding my brain and how it works and processes problems which is something I am yet to fully explore.
