Creativity and Risk


Risk taking is absolutely essential for creativity (Ellsberg). To create a life that is meaningful and fulfilling one must push themselves beyond the status quo (Ellsberg). 


I agree that creativity and risk are absolutely connected but it's not necessarily around the need to take risk for creativity to exist but I think it's about allowing yourself to take a risk in order to allow creativity to bloom. It's about embracing failure.

I hate to think about the millions of creative ideas, solutions, pieces of art that have never seen the light of day because too many people feared failure or other peoples negative feedback.

Creativity is all about the "what if" and I think for this to be explored one must be prepared to take a risk but more so be content with the prospect of failure.
